Delegation from Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS)

On May 24, 2022, IAMO representatives met with a scientific delegation from the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) in scope of their visit at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.

The purpose of the meeting was to present research projects that are currently being conducted in Mongolia and explore the possibilities of future cooperation with the Mongolian delegation. During this meeting, the research activities of the KlimALEZ project in Mongolia were presented. Of particular interest was the recent implementation of a larger insurance pilot in cooperation with Mongolia Re, insuring the weather risk of 385 farmers with a total of 22.338 hectare of wheat land in total. An assessment of the effects of this pilot are currently under way. The KlimALEZ team is looking forward to launch cooperation with more scientific partners from the region.
